Career counseling tests are inadequate and often ineffective. Mentorship programs are good, but often involve too much talking and too little doing.
Traditional internships are great, but hard to secure and require a lot of commitment.
A dinternship is a day long internship for high school & college students. Dinternships connect students with professionals (mentors) and the both of them spend a work-day together.
This allows students to gain a real life view of their job/function and helps them make better future career decisions.

The dinternship is split into 2 halves. You spend the first half of the day with the mentor - understanding their work, looking through their projects and asking questions of them. During the second half you work on an assignment. At the end of the day your assignment is reviewed by your mentor and you get feedback on the same.
We ask that you’re available for at least 80% of the day. We are happy to make some accommodations for you, for instance if there is a lecture or a class that you have to attend, let us know and we’ll make sure your mentor knows.
If you are lucky to attend a team meeting - the role we expect you to play is strictly that of an observer. No dintern will speak or disrupt the meeting to ask questions or make a point unless specifically asked to. Organisations take their team meetings seriously - and we want to make sure that a dintern doesn’t interrupt their flow.

The dinternship is split into 2 halves. You spend the first half of the day with the Dintern. You show them your work, understanding their work, share your projects and answer any questions they have. During the second half they work on an assignment. Towards the end of the day - you review that assignment and give them feedback.
3 dedicated hours. The internship requires 2 hours of dedicated time in the morning (introductions, job tour and team meeting) and 1 hour in the evening (feedback, conclusion).
Taking a dintern to a team meeting exposes them to your field and role but also provides them real overview to how collaboration and team culture unfold at an organisation. This is hard to explain or replicate on a 1 on 1 basis. Even if you can’t take them for a team meeting, we ask you to accommodate them during a meeting with another team member. Our dinterns merely observe the meeting - they do not participate (unless specifically asked to)!
